Computer Class Notes

Mrs. Tassoni would like parents to know that some classes will be receiving homework assignments from Computer class. However, these are written assignments only -- no computer and/or software is necessary or expected to complete the assignment! The written assignments are meant to be the first, preparatory step in completing a computer project. By doing this written work at home, the students can be ready to get right to work on the computers in the computer lab. If you have any questions about the homework, or anything else in computer class, please feel free to contact Mrs. Tassoni at any time. Coins for Haiti Collection

Congratulations and thank you to all of our students and parents for their outstanding contributions to our "Coins for Haiti" collection -- together, we raised over $2,000! The money will be sent directly to the Religious of Jesus and Mary Haitian mission, which helps the poorest of the poor in Haiti with education. One of the sisters in this mission is a friend of Mr. D's and was injured in the earthquake. Thank you for such a wonderful response!

January Principal's Letter

Dear Parents, Parishioners, and Friends of the Saint Christopher School Community,

And if one member suffers anything, all the members suffer with it, or if one member glories, all the members rejoice with it” (1 Corinthians, 26).  Jesus is the personification of divine love; empathy and compassion are the knots that bind the tapestry of his life, death, and resurrection.  Caring parents, guardians, and teachers, who exhibit generosity of heart daily, are the weavers who adhere to the pattern, our children following suit.  And follow suit, they do!  What a joy it is to observe our students help each other both in the classroom and on the playground and contribute to the school community by developing and sharing their talents!  Even better, they recognize that their world expands as they give of themselves.   How deeply touched I am by their concern for our neighbors in Haiti whose suffering and losses are unfathomable.  Our students’ prayers for the earthquake victims and their “coins for Haiti” efforts are the masterpiece’s theme: divine love is the Spirit that unites and redeems.

Interactive Whiteboards Are Coming!

St. Christopher School is excited to be on the forefront of the convergence of technology and elementary education! During February vacation of this year, interactive whiteboards, called eno boards from Polyvision, will be installed in ALL grade 1-6 classrooms and the computer lab. By combining this innovative technology with our traditional curriculum, St. Christopher School will be enhancing learning opportunities and stimulating students' creative minds in a truly exciting way!

This technology has been made possible by a $50,000 lead gift from current parents Brendan and Dana Keegan. Brendan is a 1981 graduate of St. Christopher School. He and Dana have been instrumental in formulating the details of the interactive whiteboard project, as well as in the solicitation of several key supporting donations. Major gifts to the project have also come from parents Kevin and Claudine Curran and alumni Bob Dunbar '58. Thank you to everyone!
