Thank you! This week’s thank you’s go to all those who showered our staff and faculty with so many wonderful gifts at Christmas! We were overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity. We pray that everyone had a blessed Christmas filled with family and fun!


NEW! FuneralSt. Christopher Parish will be having a funeral tomorrow, Thursday, January 4, at 11:00 AM. Parents are asked to avoid parking in the upper parish parking lot or in front of the church until after the funeral has ended at approximately noon.


Financial Aid Applications for 2018-2019 Applications for Financial Aid for the 2018-2019 school year are now open. All oldest and only students were sent home with a packet of information regarding the Financial Aid process before Christmas vacation. The packet can also be accessed HERE. Please read the information carefully. All families interested in financial aid MUST follow the packet instructions or aid will not be given.


UPDATED! 2018-2019 Registration – TODAY, all parents of students currently in grades 2 through 5 were sent an email with a link to the registration form for 2018-2019. (Due to volume constraints on our system’s email system, the link was sent to whoever is listed on the student online registration as the “primary” contact. The online registration form must be completed and submitted for these students by January 31, along with a $160 registration fee to be paid online at the time of registration. Please know that students whose registrations are returned after that date will not be guaranteed a seat for next year.


Annual Fund -- Our Annual Fund is underway! Many thanks to those who have already sent in their contribution! The Annual Fund is the second of our three (and only three!) school fundraising activities. All proceeds from the Annual Fund stay here at St. Chris for the benefit of ALL our students. Like the Calendar Raffle and the upcoming Auction, the Annual Fund allows us to invest in excellence in academics, enrichment, technology, and more. Auction News! – Our Auction Committee is excited to announce the theme for the upcoming 14th Annual St. Christopher School Auction… “Under the Sea: Dive into St. Chris”! Our Annual Auction will take place on March 24, 2018….book that babysitter now! Our intrepid Auction Committee is already hard at work gathering donations, sponsorships, and program advertising and they invite all parents to do the same. The website for the Auction is up and running HERE and contains loads of information on all things related to the Auction. Please take a moment to check it out! (Please note…formal invitations to the Auction will go out after Christmas, but early birds are welcome to purchase tickets or make donations online at ANY time!)


STEM Committee Meeting Our STEM Committee will be meeting on Monday, January 8 at 6:30 PM to continue planning the upcoming STEM Day and evening STEM Fair. Presenters will speak with 3 classes for approximately 20 minutes each and are welcome to talk about their work, do demonstrations, guide students in experiments, and more!


Hot Lunch OrderingDon’t forget that Hot Lunch ordering for February on Boonli.com is open! As usual, we cannot accept orders past midnight on January 15, so don’t be late!


Parent Group MeetingOur awesome Parent Group will be meeting on January 10 at 6:30 PM to plan upcoming events and ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend! This group is responsible for so many of our terrific community events during the year and they are looking for additional ideas and helpers. Please join us!


Winter Fine Arts Festival – Our student musicians and artists have been hard at work preparing the Winter Fine Arts Festival scheduled for January 18 at 6:30 PM and they can’t wait to share their talents! Our bands, Fiddle Squads, and choruses will all perform and student artwork will be displayed during the event. All are invited to attend, including those who do not yet have a student involved in one of the musical programs…this is a great way for parents and students (especially in younger grades) experience all that our Fine Arts programs have to offer!


School/Parish Mass and Coffee Hour – Please join our school and parish family on Sunday, January 28 at the 10:00 AM mass, followed by a Coffee Hour immediately after! This is a great time to reconnect with friends after the busy holiday season! All students who attend mass in uniform will receive a Free Dress pass for Tuesday, February 6.


Open Houses for Prospective FamiliesStart spreading the word! We will be holding two Open Houses for prospective families in January and we’d love to fill the halls with new friends! The first Open House will take place on Sunday, January 28 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, immediately following our Parish/School Mass and Coffee Hour. The second Open House will take place on Tuesday, January 30 from 9:30-11:00 AM. Please share with friends and family!


THIS WEEK! Chess Club News Chess and Games Club will resume again THIS Friday, January 5.  Please remember that if there is a delayed opening or school closure, Chess Club is cancelled for the day.


Winter School Delays and Cancellations – In the case of inclement weather, school cancellations or delays will be posted on the website, on our Facebook page, on radio station WZID 95.7 FM and also on TV channel 9 (WMUR). Parents will also receive text messages on their cell phones, voice messages on home phones, and emails through our Notify system.

Please note that our Notify system is not foolproof….power and internet outages may interfere with delivery of the text messages, robocalls, and voice messages. We will first post the information on the school website and Facebook, as well as contacting WMUR, as soon as possible. Please also know that we do not post school delays or closings until we receive confirmation from the appropriate administrator in the Nashua public schools, which may delay notification in some cases. Thank you for your understanding!


St. Christopher School follows the Nashua Public School System for all cancellations and delayed openings. Therefore, delayed openings are 2 hours. When there is a delayed opening, there is no school for the AM Pre-K. Before Care will take place starting at 9:00 AM and morning enrichment activities will begin 2 hours later than normally scheduled. Please note that there will be NO Band or Fiddle Squad on delayed openings. Doors are open for regular drop-off at 10:30 AM and school starts at 10:50 AM for all grades Full Day Kindergarten through 6.

Morning Mass: Did you know that St. Christopher Parish offers the earliest daily mass in the city? Start your day at 7:15 AM with the Lord at St. Chris! This mass does not include music, so it is usually a bit shorter than a Sunday mass. Kids and families are more than welcome to attend!


RIVIER MIDDLE SCHOOL RETREAT – Sometimes, God can seem like nothing more than a subject in school.  We learn about Him, but it can be hard to experience Him and His infinite love.  If you’re searching for God’s powerful love in your life, you’re not alone. Young people like you come from all across the diocese to Rivier University’s annual retreat. It’s a day full of dynamic speakers, encountering God in prayer, and sharing your faith journey with your friends.  The St. Chris Youth Group is putting together a group of Nashua-area middle schoolers to attend this powerful experience of God, and we’re inviting all St. Chris sixth graders to join us.

The Rivier University Retreat will be held at Rivier University on Sunday, February 4th from 9:30am to 3:30pm.  Permission forms and cost ($20) are due to the office on Friday January 12th, in an envelope marked “Attn: Emily Murphy – Rivier Retreat.”   More information and permission slips are being sent home with 6th grade students today.
