Thank you! This week’s thank you’s go to April Savino for her coordination of yesterday’s Project Safeguard for our 6th grade students! This valuable program is a long-standing tradition for our 6th grade students. During the off-site program, speakers address both parents and students about many of the challenges of impending adolescence, including bullying/cyberbullying, peer pressure, risky behavior and more. Many thanks to April for coordinating the speakers, lunch, and other details!

NEW! Barnes and Noble Book Fair -- Thanks, too, go to all those families who came out last night to support our Barnes and Noble Night! The turnout was terrific and everyone had a super time! Special thanks to Mrs. Noon for her coordination of the evening.

Our Barnes and Noble Book Fair continues until November 12, both in store and online! Supporters must use our Voucher ID #12054896 for the school to get Book Fair credit. The Nashua Barnes and Noble has a special Mini Maker Event coming up this weekend, too (and all purchases made through Sunday apply to our Book Fair!). Among the activities is WMUR meteorologist Josh Judge reading and signing his new Christmas picture book, Be Nice to the Weather Guy on Saturday at 2:00 PM! Josh is donating all profits from the book to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. For more information about the Mini Maker Faire, see the flyer HERE !

NEXT WEEK! PreK-Grade 1 Open House for Prospective Families Next Friday, November 17, at 9:30 AM, we will hold our annual PreK to Grade 1 Open House for families with little ones who are interested in joining the St. Chris community. We are well aware that our best publicity comes from those who are already part of the St. Chris community....our current parents! If you know of a family with small children who might be interested in joining us, please give them the flyer included in last week’s paper News and let them know how much you love St. Chris! Feel free to ask post the flyer in your office or in any business around town that will allow it! (Contact Marta at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you need more!) Thank you to all for your help in keeping St. Chris a strong school full of happy children!

NEW! St. Chris Spirit Wear Christmas is coming…and it’s time for a new batch of Spirit Wear, offered through Red Brick! These St. Chris hoodies, pajama pants, half-zip sweatshirts and long and short sleeve t-shirts are only available for order through November 27…with delivery by December 15…just in time for Christmas gift giving! Check them out HERE!

NO After Care on December 15 – Christmas may seem a looooong ways away, but we’re looking ahead to December already! Please note in your calendar that there will be NO After Care on Friday, December 15 so that the staff and faculty can attend their annual Christmas dinner. Thanks!

Registration for 2018-2017 School Year – Believe it or not, it is time to begin the registration process for the NEXT school year! Because of heavy demand, we must do our in-house registration for students currently in grades Pre-K to 1 during the month of November. Students currently in grades 2-5 will register in January.

We will be doing the registration process online again this year. Last week, families with children currently in grades Pre-K to grade 1 received an email with a link to the registration form. (Due to volume constraints on our system’s email system, the link was sent to whoever is listed on the student online registration as the “primary” contact.) The online registration form must be completed and submitted for these students by November 30, along with a $160 registration fee to be paid online at the time of registration. Please know that students whose registrations are returned after that date will not be guaranteed a seat for next year.

New students from current families -- Current families who would like to enroll a child who is not currently a student at St. Chris are also welcome to complete an admission form at this time. The admission form can be found on the school website HERE. Please note that there is a $15 fee for new student applications.

Quilter Help Needed – We are looking for an experienced quilter to cut the fabric blocks for our always-fabulous 2nd grade Auction quilt! All material will be provided….and we already have someone to quilt the blocks and create the final piece…but we need somebody to cut the blocks for us! If you, or somebody you know, can help us, please contact either Mrs. Clarke at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or Marta Nissen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Thank you!

Chorus at Bruins Alumni Game – The last paper News included a flyer for the upcoming Boston Bruins alumni hockey game to be held at Conway Arena on November 18. We have exciting news…our Chorus will be performing the National Anthem at the start of the game! Chorus members will receive a free ticket to the game and will have their photo taken with the Bruins alumni. This is a great opportunity for families to support our Chorus and school, as well as have a great night out watching the action on the ice! More information is available in the flyer HERE .

NEXT WEEK! Parent Teacher Conferences – Just a reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for NEXT Thursday, November 16 from 4:00-8:00 PM. You should have made an appointment on Meet the Teacher night. If not, please contact your child’s teacher ASAP to schedule an appointment. At least one parent/guardian must meet with each child’s teacher at this time in the school year!

THIS WEEK! November No School Dates – Don’t forget that there will be NO SCHOOL on THIS Friday, November 10 in observance of Veterans Day. In addition, our Thanksgiving vacation will run from Wednesday, November 22 through Sunday, November 26.

Crazy Sock Day and Thanksgiving Prayer Service – November 21 will be a busy day around school! Students can wear their craziest socks with their uniforms on the 21st, plus we will have our Thanksgiving Prayer Service (prepared by 4D) at 11:30 AM.

Mark Your Christmas Calendar – We are quickly coming up on the busy holiday months, so we thought everyone might appreciate a heads-up on our upcoming Christmas events:

Christmas Shopping for Kids – This event has been expanded to a 2 ½ day event! It will take place on November 29 through December 1 and it is one of the kids’ favorite events of the year! Each class will visit the “store” in the Church Hall and shop for gifts for family and friends! Each item is $6 or under and will be wrapped before the kids leave the event. Many, many volunteer elves will be needed! More information will be distributed closer to the end of November.

NEXT WEEK! HO-HO-HO! Christmas Shopping Pricing Night -- Calling all elves! NEXT Thursday, November 15 at 6:30 PM, we need helpers to sort and price our Christmas Shopping goodies! We have boxes and boxes and boxes of great items for the shopping event, but we need to organize ourselves so that set-up the night before the event is speedy and efficient!

Christmas Tree Lighting – Join us for our fourth annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 8 at 6:00 PM! This year’s festivities will once again include “pre-lighting” fun and festivity in the Church Hall! Coordinated by the Parent Group, this wonderful event is a great way to celebrate the holidays with your St. Chris family!

Students should wear regular uniforms. You do not need to sign up for the retakes. Simply have your child bring their original packet back to school on retake day.

AmazonSmile for Christmas – Who is thinking ahead to Christmas shopping already? If you are like most parents, at least one of the gifts you purchase this holiday season will arrive in an Amazon box….so don’t forget to use the school’s AmazonSmile program to donate .5% of your purchase price back to the school! AmazonSmile doesn’t cost you a penny extra, but St. Chris receives money from each purchase! The shopping interface is identical to the regular Amazon (with the exception of the AmazonSmile logo!) and the selection is exactly the same also. To start supporting St. Chris through AmazonSmile, click HERE.

And SCRIP for Christmas, too! – Did you know that you can purchase gift cards to most popular retailers and restaurants quickly and easily online through the Shop with Scrip Program…AND benefit St. Chris at the same time? Winter School Delays and Cancellations – In the case of inclement weather, school cancellations or delays will be posted on the website, on our Facebook page, on radio station WZID 95.7 FM and also on TV channel 9 (WMUR). Parents will also receive text messages on their cell phones, voice messages on home phones, and emails through our Notify system.

Please note that our Notify system is not foolproof….power and internet outages like those from yesterday’s storm may interfere with delivery of the text messages, robocalls, and voice messages. We will first post the information on the school website and Facebook, as well as contacting WMUR. Please also know that we do not post school delays or closings until we receive confirmation from the appropriate administrator in the Nashua public schools, which may delay notification in some cases. Thank you for your understanding!

St. Christopher School follows the Nashua Public School System for all cancellations and delayed openings. Therefore, delayed openings are 2 hours. When there is a delayed opening, there is no school for the AM Pre-K. Before Care will take place starting at 9:00 AM and morning enrichment activities will begin 2 hours later than normally scheduled. Please note that there will be NO Band or Fiddle Squad on delayed openings.
