Thank you! This week’s thanks go to our first few shifts of Hot Lunch volunteers for helping us work out the kinks on our new service space in the Church Hall! So far, so good…everyone seems to be enjoying the new set-up!

THIS WEEK! No SchoolDon’t forget that we will NOT have school THIS Friday, September 29. Faculty and staff will be attending a Faith Formation Day with the Diocese in Concord on that day!

Family Roster/Directory -- Your wish is our command…we are once again doing the Family Roster/Directory! This directory will include student and parent names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.

Because of privacy laws, however, it is very important that we receive your permission to print your family's contact information on this directory. We understand that some people are hesitant to share their private information, and we respect that choice.

To have your information listed on the roster, please complete the form located at by October 6. In the interest of timeliness, information returned after that date will not be included on the Roster. Please note that although we are collecting the roster information electronically, it will be distributed in print form only. We will NOT post the information on the school website.

LAST WEEK! Raffle Calendar FundraiserOh my goodness…we are at the end of the Fall Calendar Raffle sales period! All tickets are due TOMORROW to qualify for the various incentives, including the Tuition Raffle!

Tuition Raffle: For every 10 raffle tickets your family sells, you will earn one entry into a raffle for a $1,500 Tuition Credit or $1,000 Cash prize!

Student Surprise Prizes: One more day….and we’ll be picking a BUNCH of winners tomorrow!

Free Dress Incentive: Any student who brought in a calendar raffle ticket ANY time this week, including tomorrow, will receive a Free Dress for Friday, October 6! Passes will be distributed on Monday, October 2.

Crazy Mrs. Clarke: We are just a few hundred short of our goal of 2,000 tickets sold! If we meet our goal of 2,000 tickets sold, Mrs. Clarke will once again be doing something C-R-A-Z-Y and ALL students will receive a Spirit Wear day to go along with the fun!

NEW! Popcorn is Back! All students are invited to purchase popcorn for snack starting next Friday, October 6! Each bag of freshly popped popcorn is 50¢!

NEW! Lifetouch Photos – Lifetouch will be here to take our school photos on Wednesday, October 18. Students should wear their uniforms that day. More information will be coming later in October!

NEW! Chinese Exchange Students -- The NH Catholic Schools Office is looking for three more volunteer host families to open their hearts and homes for students (ages 11-12) from China who will be visiting the United States from October 8 through 21. Visiting students who are hosted with St. Chris families during these 12 days will attend St. Chris or Nashua Catholic. This is a great opportunity for St. Chris families to learn more about the Chinese culture, as well as extend a warm welcome to these kids!

·  4-5 teachers from China and the program director from UTE will be accompanying the students in October and staying in a hotel.  They will be available for parents to call with any issues or concerns.  They will also be available to the school staff/administration to help with translation along with any academic, social, or other issues.

· Students will have health insurance and health insurance cards if they need medical attention.

· Families do not need to worry about increasing their home insurance or liability insurance.  That is being covered.

· Hot Lunch will be paid for by UTE for all Chinese students.  If a host family decides to send their visiting Chinese student to school with a bagged lunch they will be reimbursed for the lunches they provide.

· If a family says “yes” to hosting a student, their name and email is forward to the UTE who will email them a form to fill out and send them the student profile.

· Pick up and drop off information will be provided to host families once they are on board.

If your family is interested in this tremendous experience of hosting a student, please contact Mrs. Clarke at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible!

We will be using this system during the year to notify you of weather-related school closings, as well as any emergency information we might need to get out in a timely manner. On Friday, October 6, sometime after 9:00 AM, we will send out a test message to all parents using all forms of communication.  Therefore, you should expect to receive several versions of this test message, both through your phone(s) and email. Mass will take place at 9:15 AM and all are welcome to attend it and the breakfast reception. The afternoon will include a craft session during which students will create very special projects for their families. Volunteers are especially needed to help with the afternoon craft sessions…please see the flyer in this week’s paper News!

Teacher Substitutes Needed – We are looking to add qualified people to our teacher substitute list! Interested individuals must have a college degree and a willingness to take full responsibility for a classroom for the day and follow the teacher’s plans. Substitutes are occasionally prearranged, but most often the phone call request will come very early in the morning (5:00 AM is not unheard of!) when a teacher wakes up and discovers she is ill. Substitutes are paid a small stipend for the day’s work. Candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to Mrs. Clarke at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
