Thank you’s also go to all those parents who contributed to our Annual Fund! We have collected almost $43,000! Each donation, whether large or small, is greatly appreciated and will go directly to supporting our students’ educational experience. Thank you!

Lifetouch Spring Photos – All students should have brought home their Lifetouch Spring Portrait package last week! As a reminder, you are not obligated to purchase these photos. However, if you choose not to purchase the photos, you must return the package to school by April 21…these are not free to keep. If you choose to purchase the portraits, please make your payment by April 21 as well! You may have noticed in the Lifetouch materials that if at least 90% of the student portrait packages are either purchased or returned to school, we will receive a complimentary bicycle from Lifetouch. Our plan is to use the bike for a free student raffle sometime in the near future…a great prize for our amazing students!

 

NEW! Spring Uniform Policy – April is upon us, which means that we have moved into our Spring uniform policy! Boys are now allowed to wear the navy blue uniform shorts on non-gym days. Girls are no longer allowed to wear leggings under their skirts, but may still wear knee socks or tights if they are chilly.

 

NEW! Drop-off Reminder – We know everyone is busy, busy, busy, but please don’t forget those morning drop-off procedures! Our school buses have had difficulty in dropping off our students this week because parents are ignoring our traffic flow and clogging up the street…oh no! If you are a PreK or Kdg parent dropping off in the rear of the school, please come DOWN Brookline St. (Manchester St. to Gordon St. to Brookline St.). After you have dropped off, go STRAIGHT out of the parking lot onto Hill St….do NOT turn right or left back onto Brookline St.

For those parents who are dropping off in the front of the building, please continue straight down Cushing Ave after dropping off. Do NOT turn up Brookline St. as this causes additional congestion by the bus drop off and the PreK/Kdg entrance to the parking lot.

Holy Thursday Paraliturgy – 1st grade will be preparing our Holy Thursday Paraliturgy on Thursday, April 13 at 9:15 AM in the church. Please join us as we prepare for the coming of our Lord on Easter!

 

After Care on Fridays during Lent – The parish is once again holding their terrific Fish Dinners on Fridays during Lent, so our After Care will be relocated to 1st grade on all Fridays during Lent. Please go to the 1st grade doors to pick up your children!

 

No School Dates in April -- Be sure to mark your calendar for our upcoming April No School dates! We will not have school on Friday, April 14 through Monday, April 17 for Good Friday and Easter. The following week, April 24 through April 28 is Spring Break…yay!

 

Poetry Slam Our student poets are busily preparing their entries to this year’s annual Poetry Slam! Representatives from all classes will present their creative work on Friday, April 21 at 1:45 PM in the Church Hall. Parents are encouraged to attend!

 

Earth Day Free DressNot only is April 21 the last day before Spring Break, but it’s also Earth Day! Many of our classes will be participating in outdoor activities, so students should dress appropriately!

 

NEXT WEEK! Holy Week Collection Have you noticed our new addition under the Faith Outreach bulletin board in the lobby? Thanks to St. Chris parishioner Dick Blais, we now have a permanent collection box for the St. Vincent de Paul Society! During Holy Week, April 10-14, we will be holding a kick-off spare change collection to benefit the Society. All children and parents are encouraged to deposit their spare change in the box for the good works of St. Vincent de Paul, including support for those in immediate need through a variety of services and programs, food donations and drives (including the Thanksgiving and Easter food collections), diaper drives, rent/utility assistance, support service referrals, and more.  Please be as generous as possible, and encourage your children to do the same!

 

NEW! Report Cards – Report cards will be issued this Friday for grade 1 through 6. Please remember to sign the back of the report and return it by next Wednesday, April 12!

 

Uniform Company Change – We are pleased to announce that Red Brick Clothing Company is now the official uniform provider for St. Christopher School. Red Brick is located at 17 Dracut Rd, Hudson, NH 03051. Red Brick's website can be found HERE.

 

Private Tours – Our next Open House isn’t until May, but that doesn’t mean potential families can’t come visit us and see what great things St. Christopher School offers them! We love giving private tours to any family interested in joining the St. Chris community! Private tours with the wonderful Jackie Langenfeld can be scheduled for most any time the school is open and we LOVE to have prospective students visit us for a Shadow Day in the classroom! To arrange, please have the prospective families call Jackie at 882-774, ext. 114.

CONFESSIONS - On Monday, April 10th, from 11:00-1:00 and from 5:00-7:00 PM every parish in the state will be offering confessions, including St. Christopher.

THIS WEEK! St. Christopher Parish Living Last Supper The St. Christopher Parish Music Ministry will present the Living Last Supper, a musical presentation of our Lord’s last meal, THIS Sunday, April 9 at 4:00 PM in the church. This is a wonderful way to mark Palm Sunday and Holy Week. Families are invited!

 

NEW! Easter Egg Hunt at St. Chris Parish -- The Easter Bunny is “hopping” to St. Christopher Parish for the Easter Egg Hunt that will be held after the 10:00 AM Mass on Easter Sunday morning! Bags will be provided for the children! The Easter egg hunt will be held on the grassy areas adjacent to the church and school. Bunny will be posing for pictures. The K of C will host coffee and pastry outside. Fun for all! In case of rain, the event will be held in the parish hall and Bunny will hand out eggs.

 

Final K of C Lenten Friday Fish Dinner -- Knights of Columbus from St. Patrick and St. Christopher Parishes will be serving the final Baked Fish Dinners on Friday, April 7.  The dinner will be served from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at St. Christopher’s Church Hall, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua.  The menu includes a generous portion of baked fish, baked potato, vegetable, coleslaw, rolls, beverage and selections from our famous dessert table.  Cost is $11.  Pizza is available at $2.00.  Take-out orders can be placed by calling 717-4980. Stations of the Cross and Confessions are held in St. Christopher Church following the dinners.

 

NH CATHOLIC YOUTHFEST – Sometimes, God can seem like nothing more than a subject in school.  We learn about Him, but it can be hard to experience Him and His infinite love.  If you’re searching for God’s powerful love in your life, you’re not alone.  Hundreds of other young people like you come to find God at NH Catholic Youthfest.  It’s a day jam-packed with upbeat worship music, passionate speakers, dynamic Eucharistic adoration, and sharing your faith journey with your friends.  The St. Chris Youth Group is putting together a group of Nashua-area 6, 7, and 8th grade students to attend this powerful experience of God, and we’re inviting all St. Chris sixth graders to join us.

Youthfest will be held at St. Anselm College on Saturday, May 6th from 9am to 6:30pm.  Permission forms and cost ($35) are due to the office by THIS Friday April 7th, in an envelope marked “Attn: Emily Murphy – Youthfest.”   Permission slips can be found at http://stchrisparishnh.org/ under “NH CATHOLIC YOUTHFEST.” For any questions email Emily Murphy.

 

Hot Lunch Volunteers – Hot Lunch volunteers should make sure to mark your calendars with your scheduled hot lunch days. The volunteer schedules can be found on the Hot Lunch page of the website. If you are unable to work a day you are scheduled, please try to find a replacement by consulting the sub list on the school website. We count on each and every volunteer. Thank you to all the volunteers for adhering to the Health Dept requirements.  Paper hats are available if you forget to bring your own!
