June 24 Fr. Kelley's Retirement Mass -- 10:00 AM -- St. Christopher Church

Thank you! Thank you to all those who shared their vacation photos on our Facebook page last week! It was so fun to see how everyone was spending their time off from school! Whether here in Nashua or in some far away locale, our students looked like they were having a GREAT time!

Special Annual Fund Thanks: Wowza! We just received a check for $7,150 in matching funds from Fidelity Investments! Many thanks to all of those Fidelity Investment employees who donated to our Annual Fund AND submitted their donation for a match through Fidelity!

NEW! Fr. Kelley Retirement -- Fr. Kelley recently announced that he will be retiring as pastor of St. Christopher Parish at the end of June. While we will miss having Fr. Kelley as the spiritual leader of our school and parish, we are very happy for him as he enters the next exciting phase of his life! Please make plans to attend his Retirement mass on Sunday, June 24 at 10:00 AM! (A new pastor for St. Christopher will be announced by the Diocese as soon as one is assigned!)

Admissions News:

We are continuing to look for new families to join our school community for Fall 2018!  History shows that our current happy families are our best resource for bringing in new students and we’d love to partner with YOU in this effort! A number of external factors, including full day Kindergarten in Nashua and other towns, area charter schools, and decreased birth rates make upcoming Admissions efforts very challenging, but very important for keeping our school full of happy children! Please consider helping us bring in new students:

Promote Our Open House for Prospective Students – The Spring Open House for Prospective Students will take place following the Parish/School Mass and Coffee Hour on May 20, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. If you know of someone who is interested in a St. Chris education for their child, this is a GREAT opportunity for them to stop in and take a look around! Our knowledgeable tour guides will show visitors around the school, and Mrs. Clarke and many teachers will be available to answer any questions.  Parents are also welcome to escort any friends or family who are interested in attending the school…and give them the inside scoop on all things St. Chris! Pre-registration is not required for the Open House and it is on a drop-on basis, but parents are welcome to call Jackie Langenfeld for more information at 882-7442, ext. 114.

Are you on Facebook? If so, share our Open House event on your page or on any community group pages you belong to! You can find the event on our school Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/St.ChrisSchoolNH!

Share the good news – What YOU say about our school matters! Potential parents who are looking for a new school spend an enormous amount of time checking out reviews online and are looking to hear from other parents. Take a few minutes and leave a few positive words on any one (or more!) of these popular review websites:

Facebook (You’ll need to be signed in to Facebook first)

Private School Review

Great Schools

Google Reviews (You’ll need to be signed in to a Google account first)

Private Tours – Know someone who can’t make the May 20 Open House?  We love giving private tours to any family interested in joining the St. Chris community! Private tours with the wonderful Jackie Langenfeld can be scheduled for most any time the school is open and we LOVE to have prospective students visit us for a Shadow Day in the classroom! To arrange, please have the prospective families call Jackie at 882-774, ext. 114.

NEW! NWEA Testing -- Our new NWEA standardized testing program begins this week! Over the month of May, students in grades 2-6 will be taking three sets of standardized testing using the school's iPads. Testing will not be done in one specific week across the school as it has been in the past....instead students will take the tests on a class by class basis over the month period. Students have had practice on using the iPads for testing and are very excited about it! Teachers will work with students to ensure they have the best testing experience and test to their highest potential. Please click HERE for a letter from our Superintendent of Schools, David Thibault, about the new testing.

THIS WEEK! Expanded Before Care Hours -- Good news for parents who need early Before Care for their children… our Before Care program now opens at 6:30 AM! Several parents have requested the earlier morning hours and we are happy to be able to help our working parents. If we find these expanded morning hours are successful, we will consider keeping them for the Fall and exploring the possibility of extending After Care as well.

NEXT WEEK! UPDATED! Used Book Sale – Our Parent Group will be holding its annual Used Book and Uniform Sale next Thursday afternoon, May 10, and Friday, May 11! Lifetouch Spring Portraits…and a Bike Raffle! – All students received their Spring portrait proof packages before vacation…and they looked soooo cute! Please remember that if you are not intending on ordering a portrait package, you must return the proof to the school so we can send it back to Lifetouch. If ALL of our parents either order portraits OR return their proof to us by May 18, Lifetouch will give us a new bicycle to be raffled as part of our Field Day festivities!

Faith Outreach Communications Help Needed – Our Faith Outreach Committee is looking for someone to help foster our outreach and communications with our wonderful priest and religious friends!
