Admissions News:

We are knee deep in recruiting new families to join our school community for Fall 2017!  History shows that our current happy families are our best resource for bringing in new students and we’d love to partner with YOU in this effort! A number of external factors, including potential full day Kindergarten in Nashua, area charter schools, and decreased birth rates make upcoming Admissions efforts very, very important for keeping our school full of happy children! Please consider joining our Admissions efforts in any of the following ways:

Share the good news – What YOU say about our school matters! Potential parents who are looking for a new school spend an enormous amount of time checking out reviews online and are looking to hear from other parents. Take a few minutes and leave a few positive words on any one (or more!) of these popular review websites:

Facebook (You’ll need to be signed in to Facebook first)

Private School Review

Great Schools

Google Reviews (You’ll need to be signed in to a Google account first)

Private Tours – Know someone who couldn’t make the May 21 Open House?  We love giving private tours to any family interested in joining the St. Chris community! Private tours with the wonderful Jackie Langenfeld can be scheduled for most any time the school is open and we LOVE to have prospective students visit us for a Shadow Day in the classroom! To arrange, please have the prospective families call Jackie at 882-774, ext. 114.

Last Days of School – The end of school is coming quickly! Here’s a recap of the important dates:

  • PreK and Kdg will have their last day on Friday, June 9. This will be a half day.
  • Grade 6 will finish their last day of school on June 8 at the conclusion of the Graduation Lunch. The Graduation Mass and Ceremony will take place on Friday, June 9 at 7:00 PM. More details will come from the 6th grade teachers.
  • Grades 1-5 will finish the year on Wednesday, June 14 at 12:30 PM.

Band and Fiddle Squad for Fall 2018 – Band Director David Bailey and Fiddle Squad Director Alison Bailey invite all students who will be in grades 3-6 in the Fall to consider joining Band and/or Fiddle Squad! Music is a fun and exciting way for students to expand their academic experience, make new friends, and build self-esteem (among MANY other benefits!). More information on the Band can be found HERE and Fiddle Squad can be found HERE .

NEW! Cross Country Registration – It’s time to register for Fall Cross Country! The team is open to all students who will be in grades 2-6 in the Fall (Note – grade 6 students may practice with St. Chris, but will not be able to race with us. They should plan on racing with Nashua Catholic.). Practices will take place on Monday and Wednesdays starting on September 6. Online registration will take place on Sign-Up Genius TOMORROW, THURSDAY, June 1 at 6:00 PM HERE. For safety reasons, the team is limited to 75 runners. Therefore, if your child is interested in participating, you should plan on going online as early as possible.

NEW! Last Week for Milk – Next Friday, June 9, will be the last day for the milk program this year! Many thanks to Mrs. Langenfeld for coordinating this throughout the year!

UPDATED! THIS WEEK! BBQ – Our Parent Group is excited for the annual FREE BBQ for all St. Chris families! THIS Friday, June 2, is the big day... plan on a great time featuring hamburgers, hotdogs and all the sides! This is one BIG party and you aren’t going to want to miss it! Food is served from 5:30 – 7:00 PM! Uber-popular DJ Ryan will be back spinning the tunes! Here’s a few reminders for the evening:

  • Please bring your own chairs…The picnic tables and grassy areas are kept off-limits for safety sake, so be sure to bring something to sit on while enjoying your yummy food!
  • Keep an eye on your kids…this is a popular event and can get very crowded! We want everyone to relax and have a good time, but safety is paramount!
  • Be patient…The lines for hamburgs and hotdogs can get a little long sometimes, but rest assured that our volunteer dads are grilling as fast as they can! Waiting in line is a great time to chat with all your St. Chris friends and make some summer play date plans!
  • Clean up….many hands make light work! Please be sure to throw away any trash you see laying around…and if you are around at the end of the evening, we’d LOVE your help cleaning up tables, grills, trash, etc.!
  • And most importantly….HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

NEW! Hot Lunch Volunteers for 2017-2018 It’s never too early to start planning our Hot Lunch program for next year. Those interested in participating as volunteers in next year’s Hot Lunch are asked to take a moment to complete the volunteer form in this week’s paper News. Over 100 volunteers are needed each year to run the Hot Lunch program and completing this form now gives us a good idea of how many slots we need to fill in the Fall. Thanks!

NEW! Summer Skills Workbooks If you missed the Summer Skills workbook order through the school, don’t worry! You can still order them as individuals through the publisher’s website at SummerSkills.com. Your child has worked hard and make great academic progress this summer…help him or her keep those skills sharp over the summer!
