Kevin Skarupa – Channel 9 weatherman Kevin Skarupa will be visiting with the school on Friday, November 20 at 9:30 a.m. Kevin is an favorite of the students and is invited each year by the Parent Group. Be sure to ask your child what he or she learned!

KH Take Your Parents to Lunch – The final Take Your Parents to Lunch event for PreK and Kdg will be held this Friday in the Church Hall. This week, the students of KH will be sharing lunch with their parents/grandparents. Welcome!

“Stuffers” Needed – If you have an hour or two free on Wednesday, November 25, beginning at 8:30 a.m., we could use your help! We will be stuffing our monthly paper Wednesday News and many hands make lighter work. If you can help, please email Marta at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Book Collection -- The Wild Roses Girl Scout Troop is collecting new and gently used books from their classroom families for the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter. The Girl Scouts are collecting books in 3G, 4T, 5C, and 5M and have boxes placed in these classrooms for their collection. The collection ends this Friday, Nov. 20th. The girls are earning their Bronze Award, the highest award available to Junior Girl Scouts. They have already made "birthday bags" for the children of the shelter that include cake mix, frosting, candles, paper goods, a WalMart gift card (from their cookie money) and handmade decorations. They baked birthday cakes and birthday cupcakes to keep in the freezer at the Soup Kitchen for families who have a child with a birthday. These books will be used as gifts or placed in the shelter so that children of all ages have access to books. Thank you for your help!

Parent Conferences – Most teachers will be holding their Parent/Teacher conferences this coming Tuesday, November 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please be prompt for your scheduled conference time so that those following you are not kept waiting. Thanks and the teachers look forward to meeting with you!

Parish/School Clean Up – Due to the large amount of rain received last weekend, the Parish/School Clean-up day was rescheduled to this coming Saturday, November 21 at 9:00 a.m. If you have a rake, please bring it! Meet in the upper parking lot by the church.

Speaking of Clean-up – The parish has several 5ft. hardwood packing pallets that they are looking to get rid of. If you have a need, please contact Marta at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Christmas Shopping for Kids – Next week’s paper Wednesday News will include a packet of information regarding the Christmas Shopping event being held on December 3 and 4. One of the pages of the packets is a Volunteer form – we need many, many volunteers for this event to make it as wonderful for the students as possible! If you’d like to think ahead and mark your calendar now, we’ll need volunteers for several shifts:

Wednesday, December 2 (set-up) 6:00 p.m. in the Church Hall

Thursday, December 3th Morning shift:                    8:40 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Afternoon Shift:                 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Friday, December 4th Morning shift:                     8:40 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Afternoon Shift:                 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Genevieve’s Order – As of right now, our Genevieve’s order is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, November 24 by noon and will be available for pickup after that time. If this schedule changes, we will send out another email with the new date/time.

Papa Gino’s Nite – Our next Restaurant Night will take place on December 6 at the Papa Gino’s in South Nashua.

Parents Nite Out – For the third year, the Parents Group will be holding it’s Parents Nite Out event on Friday, December 11 from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. All parents are invited to drop their children off for the event.  This is a great opportunity for parents to get some Christmas shopping done, go out to dinner, or just go home and relax! Students will be well-entertained and we’ll have a nurse on duty, too. Cost for the evening is $20 for the first child, and $10 for every child thereafter. Registration forms will be in the paper Wednesday News next week.

Bus Meetings – The next step in our research/planning for a new bus system to reach the communities to the west and north of Nashua is a pair of parent meetings to discuss the proposed routes. The first meeting will be held at Nashua Catholic Jr. High on Tuesday, December 1, 7:00 p.m. and the second will be here at in the St. Chris Church Hall on Wednesday, December 2 at 9:00 a.m. Parents who may avail themselves of the bus service are asked to attend either one of the meetings to help us evaluate the plan. Remember, this bus service is being done in conjunction with Nashua Catholic, so if your child is in 6th grade, you could still use the service next year to Nashua Catholic.

Christmas Concerts – Make plans now to attend the upcoming Christmas concerts by our talented St. Chris students. Grades 1-3 will perform Thursday, December 10 at 10:00 a.m and Grades 4-6 will perform at 1:30 on the same day. Parents from grades PreK and Kdg. are invited to join their child in music class for a very special holiday celebration and sing-along. These will be held according to the following schedule:

Tuesday, December 15                    11:45-12:15           KH

Wednesday, December 16               2:15-2:35              PreK B

Our Fine Arts program will also hold a Christmas concert on December 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Prayer Service – Please join our students at the Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Wednesday, November 25 at 9:15 a.m. 5M is preparing the service. What a wonderful way to give thanks to our Lord for all of His gifts!

Early Dismissal/Thanksgiving Vacation – Our well-deserved Thanksgiving vacation will begin with an Early Release day on Wednesday, November 25 at 12:30 p.m. Enjoy the holiday, get “stuffed”, and give thanks for all your blessings! We’ll see everyone on Monday, November 30!
