Registration – Don’t forget…In-house registration forms for 2010-2011 are due by Friday, January 29. Because we have had a large number of new families interested in the school, we MUST receive your registration and fee by the 29th in order to save your child’s spot in the school (particularly in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 6th grades). We want you and your family to be part of our St. Chris community next year, so please get those registrations in!

Financial aid forms should be returned to Deb Carney by the 29th also. Parish support forms for families who did NOT receive parish support this year should be brought to your parish rectory as soon as possible. Those who received support this year do not need to take a form to the rectory. Please remember, the parish support program is only for children in grades 1-6.

Nashua Catholic Step-up Day – 6th grade students are reminded that the Nashua Catholic Step-Up Day will be held on Friday, January 22. All those interested in the day should be registered by now. Students should report to Nashua Catholic on Friday, not St. Chris. Have fun!

Parents Group – Our fun-loving and energetic Parents Group will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Hall. Please consider getting involved in this great group as they plan new enrichment programs and speakers for the school!

Student Help Needed – As in past years, we will once again joining with Nashua Catholic Jr. High and Infant Jesus in providing student speakers to all of the masses in the Nashua area as part of our Catholic Schools Week celebration (weekend of Jan. 30 and 31). Students will be given a short speech (1-2 minutes) to present during Mass while wearing their uniform. While we have representatives for most of the masses, we are in need of a student speaker for the 4:00 p.m. masses at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Nashua on January 30 If your child would like to represent St. Chris and present the short speech at St. Joseph, please email Marta at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. thumb_auction_stationaryAuction Item of the Week – Two tickets to a Boston Red Sox game…in the EMC Club! These are premium seats, right behind home plate! The EMC Club features a climate controlled elegant restaurant, padded seats, in-seat beverage and food service and more. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for two lucky people! Thank you to Tom and Jill Monahan for this wonderful Auction item!

To see more items up for grabs at our Auction, check out the Auction page on our website.

If you’d like to donate an Auction item, we’d love to have it! You can drop it off at the school, send it in with your child, or send Marta an email to let her know that it’s coming. In any case, please download an Auction Donation Form  from the Documents and Forms section of the website and attach it to your item (Forms are also available in Marta's office). This helps us track the items and give credit where credit is due!

Also, be sure you have March 20 on your calendar for the big event. Invitations will be mailed soon. We can’t wait to see you there!

Auction Meeting – Speaking of the Auction, there will be a meeting of the Auction Committee on this Friday, January 22 at 8:00 a.m. in the Library. New members are always welcome!

Thank You’s – This week’s thank you’s go to our Open House tour guides! These folks did a wonderful job of leading potential parents and students around the school, telling them in great detail about what a wonderful school and community St. Chris is! A number of new families have already registered, so they must have done a great job! Thank you to Carol Laplante, Mary Popik, Mark Sheehy, Donna Noon, Sue Sheehy, Kerrie Dahl, Nick Dahl, Shari Trabucchi and

YEARBOOK NEWS! Don't forget to get your yearbook orders in by January 29th!  You can refer to the yearbook packet that you received last week or simply download the forms from our website.  The yearbook is a great way for your child to look back on their memories of the year at St. Christopher School. Speaking of memories, have you checked out the yearbooks on display in the lobby?  The yearbooks date all the way back to 1993. Come on in and check out some St. Christopher School history!

Parish Speaker – St. Christopher Parish will be hosting a talk by nationally-noted end-of-life speaker Dr. Peter Cataldo  on Thursday evening, January 28th at 7:30 PM in the church hall.

Blessing of the Throats – Following a long tradition in the Catholic church, St. Christopher Parish will have a blessing of the throats following all masses on the weekend of January 30 and 31. This falls on the weekend closest to the feast day of St. Blaise, December 3. Saint Blaise was a fourth century bishop in Armenia.  Although we don't know much about his life, but we know by tradition that he saved a small boy from choking on a fish bone.  Because of this, people through the ages have sought his help, especially those who are afflicted with ailments of the throat. This blessing asks for God’s protection and healing. Please join us!

Parking Lot – Winter and the piles of snow have made our parking lots extra small and dangerous – we need your help to keep our children safe! Please take a minute to review the notes below about both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup. Thanks for your help!

Morning Drop-off – Just a reminder to everyone that the if your child needs extra time to unload a project, put on boots, pack a backpack, etc., you should pull into the parking lot and park along the middle of the lot to give them the extra time they need. Please do not pull up in the drop-off line on Brookline St., park, and then allow the child to get his or her things together. The drop-off line is a busy place in the morning, so a parked car creates quite a problem!

Afternoon Pick-up in the Outside Nashua Lot – When you come to pick up your child, please be sure to back into all of the spaces along the outside of the parking lot. We have had several close calls where a car has backed out of a space and almost hit a child who was walking along behind the car! If you send someone else to pick up your child (grandparent, babysitter, etc.), please be sure that he or she understands to back into the spaces also. Thank you!

Hot Lunch Volunteers – Thank you for volunteering for the hot lunch program.  We appreciate your time and look forward to another successful year.  Volunteers are asked to arrive by 11:15 AM.  There is preparation that needs to be completed before serving begins.  Please bring a cap to wear (required by NH Dept. of Health).  We have aprons and gloves.  Also, it is essential that you find a substitute if you are unable to make your scheduled day.  Again, thank you very much for all your help and cooperation!
