Thank you! Oh my goodness…thank you soooo much to all those who brought in the delicious treats for our extra special Valentines Day breakfast spread yesterday! We are blessed….and very full! Special thanks to the Parent Group for coordinating!


NEW! Progress Reports – Due to the number of Snow Days we have experienced so far this year, we have pushed our Progress Reports back a few days. They will be distributed next Wednesday, February 21 and will be due back on Friday, February 23.





Auction News! – The 14th Annual St. Christopher School Auction… “Under the Sea: Dive into St. Chris”…will take place on March 24, 2018!


Tickets: Invitations are out and tickets are on sale now! Last year’s event was a complete sell-out, so be sure to purchase your tickets ASAP before they are all gone! You can purchase tickets by returning your RSVP card with payment to the school, or you can go online HERE.


Table Reservations: Auction seats are preassigned…so the sooner you get your RSVP in, the easier it is for us to seat you with your friends! Have a large group who wants to sit together? No problem! NEW! Funeral this Friday St. Christopher Parish will be holding a funeral this Friday, February 16, at 10:00 AM. Please do not park in the upper parish parking lot or in front of the church until after the funeral has ended. This allows mourners easy access to the church. Thanks!

NEW! Forgotten Lunches Just a friendly reminder that students who forget their lunch receive a bagel and cream cheese, along with any available sides. To make it fair for everyone, there are no exceptions. Please do not count on your child receiving the Hot Lunch of the day as we only order the number of meals we need to accommodate those who order through Boonli. A charge for forgotten meals will be added to your Boonli account. This long-standing policy helps us to monitor inventory and keep our costs down. Thanks so much for your help with our Hot Lunch program!


Registrations OVERDUE -- If you have not yet completed the online registration for any child who will be a student at St. Christopher School in Fall 2019, your registration is now overdue and your child is at risk of losing his or her seat. We are currently drafting our budget for the next school year and tuition is based on the number of enrolled students for 2019. Because late registrations can not be counted towards our enrollment numbers in the budget, every late registration causes our tuition rate to be higher. If you are intending to send your child/children to the school in the Fall but have not registered, please do so immediately.


Financial Aid Applications for 2018-2019 – Applications for Financial Aid for the 2018-2019 school year are now open. All oldest and only students were sent home with a packet of information regarding the Financial Aid process before Christmas vacation. Please read the information carefully. All families interested in financial aid MUST follow the packet instructions or aid will not be given.

Special Note: Financial aid from the Children’s Scholarship Fund is awarded on a first come, first served basis, so parents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to maximize their award potential!


PARISH SUPPORT -- If your child is entering grades 1 through 6 and you are an active member of a parish within the Diocese of Manchester, you may be eligible for Parish Support.  The Diocesan Support Program requires the timely identification of families who meet the minimum diocesan support criteria and qualify for the supported student tuition rate.  The minimum support criteria include:

1. registration in a parish or mission;

2. contributor of record in a parish or mission; and,

3. active participation in the life of a parish or mission.

All three criteria must be met and verified by the Pastor as indicated by his signature on the Supported Student Form. The form should also be stamped with the parish seal.  It is the responsibility of the parent, after the signature of the pastor is obtained, to return the signed form to the school by March l, 2018.


Supported Student forms are available from Jackie Langenfeld at the school office.

If your child received the supported student rate for the 2017-18 school year, you do not need to fill out another Supported Student Form.  The names of those students currently supported will be forwarded to the pastors, and the pastors will notify the school whether or not the student is still eligible for support.  The school will then notify the parents of the pastor’s decision.



STARTS THIS WEEK! After Care on Fridays during Lent The parish is once again holding their terrific Fish Dinners on Fridays during Lent, so our After Care will be relocated to 1st grade on all Fridays during Lent. This will begin February 16 and run through March 23. Please go to the 1st grade doors to pick up your children!


Stations of the Cross – Lent begins today! We will begin our Lenten weekly observance of the Stations of the Cross THIS Friday, February 16 at 2:15 PM in the Church. Stations will also take place on other Fridays during Lent….please check the Wednesday News weekly for the specific time.


Box Tops -- Calling all Box Tops! Please submit the Box Tops your family has been collecting. Our next submission is right around the corner and every clipped Box Top earns money for St. Chris. The Box Top collection bin located next to the computer classroom. Many thanks!


Private Tours Our next Open House isn’t until May, but that doesn’t mean potential families can’t come visit us and see what great things St. Christopher School offers them! We love giving private tours to any family interested in joining the St. Chris community! Private tours with the wonderful Jackie Langenfeld can be scheduled for most any time the school is open and we LOVE to have prospective students visit us for a Shadow Day in the classroom! To arrange, please have the prospective families call Jackie at 882-774, ext. 114.

NEXT WEEK! Yearbook Group PhotosAll school groups (band, basketball, altar servers, etc.) will have their photos taken for the Yearbook NEXT Tuesday, February 20. Photos begin promptly at 9:00 AM, so if your child is involved in a school group, please be sure he or she arrives to school on time. There will be no retakes of group photos if a child is absent.


Diocesan Excellence in Education Awards: The successes of our Catholic schools and their students would not be possible without the selfless support of committed educators, administrators, clergy, and lay partners in the community. This year, the Diocese of Manchester is holding its second annual Recognizing Excellence Awards Gala at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord on Thursday, June 21, 2018. All are invited to attend this exciting event to officially honor the School Leader of the Year, Clergy Member of the Year, Community Partner of the Year and most especially our Teacher of the Year.


Last year, St. Chris was blessed to have Ms. Mary Lou Wefers as a finalist for the Teacher of the Year, as well as nominations for Karen Narkis for Teacher of the Year and Mrs. Clarke as School Leader of the Year! Used Book Sale – It may seem a looong ways away, but our Parent Group wanted to remind parents to save used books, cd’s, and dvd’s for the Used Book and Uniform Sale in May! If you are doing a little after-Christmas cleaning (or pre-Spring cleaning?), please keep the sale in mind! We accept donations of both children’s and adult’s book and media. All books and media are sold for 50¢ each and all students will visit the sale! Donations can be brought to the school AFTER April vacation!

NEW! CATHOLIC HIP-HOP ARTIST COMING TO ST. CHRIS Do you have a sixth grader who likes music and pizza? Jacob DeRusha, an awarded hip-hop artist and motivational speaker, is coming to share his faith journey with the St. Chris Youth Group. Students are invited to come hear his music, his testimony, and get dancing! Pizza will be provided. The program will take place in the Church Hall on March 3rd from 5:00-6:30 PM. K of C Lenten Friday Fish Dinners -- Knights of Columbus from St. Patrick and St. Christopher Parishes will be serving Baked Fish Dinners on Fridays during Lent, February 16 through March 23.  The dinners are served from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at St. Christopher’s Church Hall.  The menu includes a generous portion of baked fish, baked potato, vegetable, coleslaw, rolls, beverage and selections from our famous dessert table.  Cost is $11.  Pizza is available at $2.00.  Take-out orders can be placed by calling 717-4980. Our snow cancellation policy is that dinners will be cancelled when Nashua schools are cancelled due to inclement weather.  Stations of the Cross and Confessions are held in the church following the dinners.
