June 24 Fr. Kelley's Retirement Mass -- 10:00 AM -- St. Christopher Church

Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those who made our Open House on Sunday a success! We so appreciate our parents who recommended us, the teachers who gave up their Sunday to greet our visitors, and the parents who acted as tour guides! Special thanks go to tour guides Beth DeRego, Theresa Yasevich, and Heather Griebel, as well as Coffee Hour clean-up chief Tom McCarthy!

Thank you also to all of our parents for helping us put on our best “look” for the photographer yesterday! She was quite impressed with our school and students! We can’t wait to see the photos and look forward to using them to refresh our marketing materials (and website J) this Fall!

And thank you to everyone who supports the school through AmazonSmile…from January 1 through March 31, we earned $89.22 in donations!

UDATED! Fr. Kelley Retirement -- Fr. Kelley recently announced that he will be retiring as pastor of St. Christopher Parish at the end of June. While we will miss having Fr. Kelley as the spiritual leader of our school and parish, we are very happy for him as he enters the next exciting phase of his life! Please make plans to attend his Retirement mass on Sunday, June 24 at 10:00 AM!

Bishop Libasci has announced that our new pastor will be Fr. David Harris, currently parochial vicar at St. Elizabeth Seton parish in Bedford. Fr. Harris is a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, New Hampshire and Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. Before entering the seminary to pursue his calling to the priesthood, he worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, primarily in the offices of Senator John Sununu.  His seminary studies took place at Saint John’s Seminary in Brighton, Massachusetts and he was ordained to the priesthood in 2017. Fr. Harris will assume responsibility for the parish and school on June 27. We look forward to working with Fr. Harris!

Fr. Kelley to Receive Diocesan Award – We are excited to announce that Fr. Kelley will be receiving the Superintendant’s Award at the upcoming Diocese of Manchester’s Excellence in Education Gala! This award recognizes Fr. Kelley for his year’s of service to Catholic schools, especially St. Chris. The award will be presented at the Gala on June 21 at the Grappone Center in Concord. Tickets to the event are available by clicking HERE! Congratulations to Fr. Kelley!

Chess Club -- The last day of the Chess club for 2018 is THIS Friday, May 18. We had 25 weeks of club this time with over forty participants. In summary, the initial four weeks included encouraging kids to getting used to the club, sitting down to play and setting up the boards. The next six weeks included learning basics, playing and thinking. The subsequent weeks focused on analyzing, strategizing, some mini games and learning from each other with different partners. The tournament ran for another six weeks and encouraged playing in a semi formal manner in different age range. Participants in the tournament receive a participation certificate and some small prizes. All children did a wonderful job through the year! Please ask about their experience and encourage them. For New Englanders, outdoor days are precious and we wish the kids and families a lovely summer!
