If you have information you would like distributed in the family envelope, please send it to Mrs. Nissen or Mrs. Langenfeld by the last Monday of each month.

Please visit our website, www.stchrisschoolnh.org, for the latest information on upcoming events and classroom activities.  If you have not received our emails, please send in your email address to Marta Nissen, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. VOLUNTEERS – We are very grateful to the many volunteers who give hours of their time to the school.  All volunteers who have ongoing contact with students at any time will be required to fill out a Diocese of Manchester Volunteer Application, undergo a State Criminal Records Check, a National Sex Offender Registry check, complete the Acknowledgement Form of the Diocese of Manchester Serving Christ, Serving Others Code of Ministerial Conduct (the “Code) and the Promise to Protect, Pledge to Heal Policy for the Protecting of Children and Young People (the “Policy”) and attend a Protecting God’s Children workshop, and at least every three (3) years, participate in refresher training on sexual abuse awareness and reporting (this does not require attending another workshop—it is a pamphlet which you must review). This includes those volunteering for extracurricular activities (i.e. Chess, Great Books, Ski Club etc.).  All requirements must be completed and passed into the office no later than October 8, 2010.  We will be holding a Protecting God’s Children Workshop at St. Christopher Church Hall on Wednesday, September 22nd, 7 to 9 PM.  We urge all volunteers who have not already attended the workshop to please make an effort to attend on the 22nd.

We will then adjourn to the school where parents are encouraged to visit their children’s classrooms (be sure to leave a note in your child’s desk…they love that!), as well as sign up for volunteer opportunities for the year. We’ll see you there!

NEW PARENT ORIENTATION– Whether you’re a new parent or a “veteran” in need of a refresher course, you are invited to attend our New Parent Orientation on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Hall. BACK TO SCHOOL/BACK TO CHURCH MASS AND ACTIVITY FAIR – Our first mass in conjunction with St. Christopher Parish will be Sept. 12 at 10:00 a.m., followed by coffee and donuts and the annual Back to School/Back to Church Activity Fair. Join our St. Chris community in giving thanks for a new school year, then stop by for goodies and a chance to see all that the school and parish have to offer our families! Students who attend mass in uniform will receive a coupon for a Free Dress Day later in September!

CALENDAR RAFFLE – It’s calendar time again…and we have some GREAT prizes this year! Your paper Wednesday News packet this week should include 10 calendar raffle tickets per family. Each ticket is $10 each. For every 10 sold raffle tickets a family returns to the school, they will earn an entry into a raffle for a $1,500 Tuition Credit or $1,000 Cash prize! Be sure to read the notes attached to the calendars in your packet and get ready to win!

DRAMA CLUB PARENT MEETING – This week’s paper Wednesday News includes a sign-up sheet for this year’s Drama Club for grades 3-6. On Wednesday, Sept. 8, parents of students interested in Drama Club are required to attend a meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Hall. The production this year is The Wizard of Oz – it should be a lot of fun for all involved!

BOOK FAIR –  Once again this Fall, we'll start the year off with our annual Scholastic Book Fair to support the library! For the first few weeks of school, the library will be FULL of great books and items that are sure to be a hit with your kids (and even a few things for us adults, too!). Each class will visit the library during the Book Fair and parents are welcome to shop any time that school is in session or during any of the evening Orientation meetings. Additional details and dates are available on our Scholastic Book Fair website which can be found at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/stchrisschoolnh. Also, volunteers are needed to help Mrs. Riley with the event. If you can help, please contact her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. WEDNESDAY NEWS EMAILS – Over the summer, we transitioned to a new system for sending our Wednesday News communications (as well as other announcements) during the year. You should have received a series of two emails from us on or around August 11, the second of which was sent from the new email address at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you did not receive this email, please contact Marta as soon as possible at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. It is imperative that you provide us with an email, as we often use this as a way to get short-notice announcements out to our parents. Thank you!

COOPER DOUCETTE -- As many of you may know, Cooper Doucette, a sophomore at Nashua North High School, was involved in a terrible accident during the first week of football practice.  The community is rallying around the family with some fundraising to support Cooper and his family during this trying time.  A terrific opportunity to support this is through Modell’s Team Week fund raiser.  Starting on Friday 8/27 for the following 4 weeks anything you buy at Modell’s will be 15% off the total price.  At the end of the 4 weeks, Modell's will donate 5% of all sales collected to Cooper's fund.  Simply print the coupon located at http://stchrisschoolnh.org/downloads/3-documents.html and bring it in with you.  Please also keep Cooper and his whole family in your prayers, this is going to be a VERY long road for all of them to get through!
