Like all non-profit schools and organizations, fundraising is a necessary part of the activities of St. Christopher School. All of the money raised by St. Christopher School STAYS at St. Christopher School and is included in our annual operating budget. Through this fundraising, we are able to provide a high quality education and strong learning environment for all of our students.
As a Diocesan school, St. Christopher is required to raise approximately 5% of our annual budget through fundraising activities. In recent years, we have been required to raise approximately $50,000. Although the Diocese sets this minimum fundraising goal for us, our actual need is much greater. Our actual fundraising goal has been close to $100,000 for the past several years.
St. Christopher School recognizes that multiple fundraisers throughout the year can easily become a drain on our parents both mentally and financially. Therefore, our fundraising efforts focus on our Invest in Excellence campaign, which has three major undertakings -- the Fall Calendar Raffle, the Annual Fund, and the Annual Auction.
Invest in Excellence Fundraisers
Nashua Diocesan Schools Fall Calendar Raffle (September)
Each Fall, we work with Infant Jesus School and Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School to put on our exciting Fall Calendar Raffle. This fun raffle is quite popular with ticket sales occurring in September and a month's worth of daily prize drawings held in October. During September and October, more information about the Calendar Raffle can be found at www.NashuaDiocesanSchools.org.
Annual Fund Drive (November)
Parents, alumni, alumni parents and friends of St. Christopher School and Catholic education are solicited for cash donations in support of the mission of the school through this annual drive in November. Parents act as Class Agents, encouraging their fellow parents to participate and answering questions. Our primary goal is 100% participation of teachers/staff, School Board, and parents. Donors are always very generous and we appreciate the support our donors give to the St. Chris community!
Annual St. Christopher Auction (Spring)
This is one social event you don’t want to miss! An adult-only evening, the event features a silent auction of over 175 items, a delicious sit-down dinner, and a thrill-a-minute live auction. More information about this year's Auction can be found at http://stchrisschoolnh.org/support/auction.html.
Other Ways to Help St. Chris
Campbell’s Labels for Education and General Mills Box Tops for Education Collection
Collection boxes are located outside the office on the first floor. Ask friends and relatives to collect for you – you’ll be amazed at how quickly these add up! For more information about these programs and a list of participating products, visit these websites:
- Labels for Education www.labelsforeducation.com (participating products)
The Scrip Program offers St. Chris another great way to earn funds. Through the Great Lakes Scrip, you are able to purchase Gift Cards to major stores. Each vendor gives St. Chris a percentage back for each card that is bought. For an introduction to the Scrip program at St. Chris, click HERE. Online orders can be placed at www.glscrip.com or click HERE for the order form. As an extra bonus, once a family has reached $50 in cash back to the school from their purchases, the school splits the cash back 50/50 with the family! This is not reset each year, so a family only needs to reach the $50 once in their entire St. Christopher career! Checks are mailed at the end of the school year.
The Birthday Book Program
The Birthday Book program allows families to mark their child's birthday in a very special way by purchasing a book of the child's choice for donation to the library. Children work with Mrs. Noon to pick out a book, which families then purchase and Mrs. Riley orders. When the birthday book arrives, a bookplate is put in the front of the book with the birthday child's name on it. The birthday child is also the first person to "check out" the book from the library!
