Visual Arts - Mrs. Fessenden

Becky_FessendenHello! I am so glad to be joining the St. Christopher community!

I have a degree in Art Education from Plymouth State University and have enjoyed working in schools in southern NH, summer camps in the White Mountains and private art studios as well.  I love to be active outdoors, sing and dance, and work with children!

January 2015

Happy New Year!

We had a great time in 2015 in Visual Arts at St.Christopher! We explored so many different materials, concepts and processes the first half of this school year. i hope you had a chance to walk through our hallways and enjoy the artwork the students have been doing. If not, don't worry!  I have been taking lots of pictures of the students work for our WINTER ARTS FESTIVAL which is scheduled for the 14th of January.  If you haven't noticed, there was something special on the fifth grade windows this vacation! Fifth graders were asked to design a "pixelated" image to decorate their windows with post-it's for the Christmas and winter season. They were very excited about this assignment! This is a very popular modern international art form. What else could you do with a post-it? Maybe you would like to try THIS !

December 2015

Looking for something FUN and Educational to check out this December? Maybe one of those vacation days could be spent at the Peabody Essex Museum! There is an exhibition of Theo Jansen's STRANDBEESTS until January 3rd at the PEM.  Check out the link HERE.

Jansen's fantastic creatures blend ART, ENGINEERING, SCIENCE and more to create kinetic works of art that move on their own. Want to see one in action? Click HERE.

MAYBE I'LL SEE YOU THERE!
