December (diciembre)

¡Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad, Próspero Año y Felicidad!

Every child at school is singing this contagious song, and I love it. Starting this week we are learning everything about Navidad, en español.

From la flor de Pascua o flor de  Noche Buena (poinsettia), that come to us from Mexico. Las Posadas, José y María looking for a place

to stay or shelter. A popurrí of canciones en inglés y español, from the traditional songs in English to the traditional ones in Spanish.

My favorite one, The Three Kings (Los Tres Reyes Magos).

We are going to be learning about traditional food and making a menu en español.

Enjoy this wonderful time of the year.

Hasta pronto,

señora B.

¡Feliz Navidad!

November / noviembre

Mira bien y verás las hojas caer. Rojo, amarillo, café y naranja. Look carefully and you can see the leaves falling. Red, yellow, brown, and orange too.

You can ask any of the children from kindergarten about this song, because they know how to sing this song about el otoño (Fall) very well.

This month we are decoraring sugar skulls to celebrate El Dia de Los Muertos ( November 1st. And 2nd.). The kids love this activity. We are using a program called  rockalingua to learn about this celebration.

In November we give thanks for everything we have. The children will learn vocabulary, songs and prayers  about Thanksgiving.

Don't forget about the book fair! We are making bilingual bookmarks.

¡Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias!
