Library - Mrs. Riley
|
Mrs. Riley is starting her 15th year here at St. Christopher School. Mrs. Riley worked as a teacher's aide in Kindergarten for 3 years before moving to full time as the Librarian. Over the 11 years that she has been the Librarian, many upgraded, informative, and interesting volumes have been added to our collection - all ready to help with projects and reports and to help pass a relaxing time reading. The best part of Mrs. Riley's job (besides having had her 3 sons as students here at St. Chris) is spending Library Class every week with all the students from All-Day Pre-K to Grade 6. She says she has the best job in the school! |
Welcome to the Library Page!Could it be true? Could Spring be around the corner? Get out into the sunshine and get into a good book! BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS!!!! I've been mentioning these past weeks about the new books ordered with the proceeds from our Scholastic Book Fair in September. Almost all of our new books have been received, with the exception of 2 or 3 back ordered items. The weeding of the fiction shelves is just about complete. Next task will be to weed the non-fiction shelves. I've received many new non-fiction books that will be very helpful for those reports and projects. Our library is a very busy and exciting place. It's great to see the wonderful books that our school community helped to make possible. The students love checking out the new additions. Here are a few of our new titles: FICTION: Almost Home Arrow Over the Door Children of the Longhouse Dark Frigate The Egypt Game Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series Moccasin Trail Tombs of Atuan Singing Tree The Mayflower Secret Queste
NON-FICTION: Wetlands Dreadful Droughts Dream Keeper and Other Poems Endless Steppe Inside Hurricanes Never Cry Wolf Mayflower 1620 Seashore In My Hands - Memories of a Holocaust Rescuer Living in the Taiga Green Giants - Rainforests of the Pacific Northwest

Welcome to the Library Page! Reading to all of the students is a primary goal in the Library. To have the students feel excitement, suspense or adventure of each story is important in trying to instill a LOVE of reading. Reading should be enjoyable. We feel that students who read are the ones who succeed! If you have any questions or concerns, please
