Welcome to Kindergarten! If you have any questions or concerns, please send me in a note with your child. I have been part of the teaching staff here at St. Chris for 12 years and love it. I also taught for 10 years in the public school prior to coming to St. Chris. My whole career has focused on the early childhood years. I find that kindergarten is a challenging but very fun level to teach and at St. Chris I’m pleased to be able to include a spiritual component to my teaching.

September Class News 2010  
We are off to a terrific start this year with a wonderful group of new kindergarteners. Our first day went very well and Mrs. Foran and I are looking forward to getting to know everyone. I would like to thank all the parents for coming to our "meet the teacher day" and for being so well prepared for school. I also appreciate all the cleaning products which will certainly be put to good use. During the month of September we will begin covering the alphabet in alphabetical order. As we progress through a letter a week , we will be going over the phonetic sound(s) of the letter and the proper upper and lower case formation. We also will be making associated letter friends and writing word lists. In addition to counting and sequencing, we will be quickly reviewing numbers 1-10 before moving into the teens and beyond. Our themes for the month are: All About Me, The life cycle of the Monarch butterfly, and Apples. The character trait for September is Attentiveness. |
