Home Students Classroom Pages Grade 6 - Miss Wefers 6W January News

6W January News

Happy New Year to all of our St. Christopher families!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and lots of fun with family and friends over the vacation.  Thank you all so much for the generous Christmas gifts.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness so very much.

It is now time to get back to work. Please be on the lookout for three different sets of directions for Social Studies research projects that will be sent home for your signature over the course of this month.  Grade Six will be working on an ABC Book on a European country.  Grade Five will research a state and present the findings in the form of an ABC poster.  I know the students will do an outstanding job on these projects.  They always do!

Our literature class will be reading the novel My Side of the Mountain together in class this month.  We will also complete several activities on this book in school.  The genre for the book to be read at home in January will be great classics of children's literature.  Books should be chosen by the end of this week.

We will return to our study of the Old Testament in religion, starting with the story of Joseph and his Coat of Many Colors.  Go, Go, Go, Joseph!!!!

Please keep practicing the spelling list words at home by going to spellingcity.com.  Written work is due every Thursday, and the test on the list words is given on Friday.

There is much to do in the coming months for the Class of 2017.  I know that your students will continue to work hard.
