December News From 5M

Welcome to December!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We were very busy in November learning about the sacrament of Baptism, reading about being honest, starting the prep work for the Spelling Bee in January, writing a story  about the Thanksgiving turkey,  our trip to the Museum of Science in Boston, and lots more.

This this month will be just as busy. The students will be learning about  the cell and its parts, and the Human Body in Science. In Spelling we will be covering lessons 11, 12, 13, and 14.  Don't forget to use spellingcity to help with studying. The genre for the book  report is Poetry. The activity that goes along with the poetry will be done in class.  The students will be  given a rubric in class and should be done in one day.  We will be learning more about Advent and the Christmas season in Religion.

We will also be going on a couple of field trips in December.  Our first one is December 8th. We are going to Noel's Tree Farm with our buddies. It should be lots of fun and probably chilly.  We are also going on a school wide field trip to see the movie "The Star", a movie about the Holy Family. That is on December 15th.  Again this should be a lot of fun for the students.

The Christmas party will be on December 20th at about 1:30.  Details will come later in the month.

December 21st will be an early release and no aftercare.

5M Would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Mrs. Mitchell, Johnny, Scarlett, Ava, Ben, Blayne, Elizabeth, Isabel, Alexandra, Emma, Alicia, Brayden, Gavin, Michaela, Mary, Karina, Siena, and Ryan
