Dear Fifth Grade Students and Parents,

  I hope you've had a great summer and you're getting excited about fifth grade. I know you're going to think it's interesting, fun, and challenging. I realize that teaching your child is a privilage as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in our classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your help. We all need to be partners in the learning process. I need each of you to encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their assignments, and help them study for quizzes, if necessary. 

The summer has ended,

The school year has begun.       

But this year is completely different,

I promise we'll have fun!           

Welcome to my classroom,

I can't  wait for school to start.

A lot of fun things are planned,

I guarantee when it comes to English, you'll learn a lot!
