Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day,

Nothing gold can stay.

by Robert Frost

We're in the final stretch of a golden year. Six more spelling tests, six more math quizzes, two more units in science, two more chapters in math. The students in 4T have been very hard workers. Let's finish the year in a "blaze of glory."

In religion we're studying the 10th commandment. Greed is the sin against this commandment. Next Friday, May 11th will be the test on all ten commandments. Then we'll be studying the theological ancd cardinal virtues and the marks of the church.

Geometry is the focus in math. The students have learned to use a protractor to measure angles. We'll be studying triangles and quadrilaterals in the next couple of weeks. Then on to decimals.

We're finishing our physics unit in science by constructing eletromagnets. There's a quiz this Friday, and then on to the earth, its rocks and waters.

Irregular verbs can be a bit tricky, but this class is up to mastering them in English. I hope to get a little expository writing in, also.

We're very busy, and there's a lot to do before the end of the year. Hang in there.
