Positive Parent Involvement

St. Christopher School sees parents as important partners in the education and development of children. The school and its parents share a common mission – to foster each child’s academic success, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. Working together, the school and its parents can create an exceptional educational, social and moral experience for every child.

Parents are the first and the lifelong teachers of their children. As such, they can help their children in a number of ways:

  • encouraging a positive, responsible attitude towards school and homework
  • establishing a time and place for homework and studying
  • monitoring homework and ensuring its timely completion
  • communicating with teachers and school administration
  • set up extra tutoring help when needed
  • supervising use of television programs, movies, video games, and internet usage
  • modeling a strong faith life by living Christian values, attending church, and praying regularly with the family
